Search and recovery efforts continue in Kerr County, 12 days after the tragic flood that claimed more than 130 lives along the Guadalupe.
Gov. Greg Abbott activated state emergency response resources on July 17 due to increased threats of tropical weather impacting Southeast and East Texas.
The NWS is expecting a high of 98 degrees Thursday, which would be the hottest temperature recorded in the region this year. The Metroplex has not crossed into 100 degrees yet; the hottest day of the year thus far was 97 degrees on July 10.
Lakes across Central Texas are once again dealing with high water levels after recent rains and floods caused them to quickly rise.
A few thunderstorms are possible on Monday, but much drier conditions are expected soon as the weather pattern shifts.
At a news conference Monday, state officials said 101 people remain missing, including 97 in the Kerrville area.
The National Weather Service (NWS) warned areas near the Lampasas River of potential flooding after the river rose 33 feet in just 4 hours.
