A manhunt ended Tuesday afternoon after the FBI captured Benjamin Song, who is suspected of being involved in an anti-ICE attack on Independence Day that left a police officer shot in the neck.

The rumor stemmed from an AI-generated video that appeared to show Texas Gov. Greg Abbott endorsing the alleged deportation of Mexican volunteers.

If approved by council at the Aug. 5 meeting, Keller law enforcement officers would be a part of ICE’s 287 (g) program. The program authorizes state and local officers to “perform specified immigration officer functions under the agency’s direction and oversight,” according to the website.
