Police say a shooting near a mosque in central Sweden has left one person dead and another injured. Police believe the incident is linked to gang violence.

At least two people have been injured in a shooting that erupted outside a mosque in Örebro, Sweden. The gunman, who is on the run, opened fire during prayers at a mosque in the Vivilla district at around 1.45pm local time (12.45pm BST). Many people were inside the building at the time.

Sweden has endured more than a decade of gang-related violence and the number of deadly shootings is among the highest in Europe.
