MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Police Department (MPD) is investigating a shooting that left a woman dead on Friday morning, May 23. Officers responded to a shooting call in the 1100 block of Cannon St. at around 6 a.m. Police say a shooting victim was taken to Regional One in critical condition, and she was later pronounced dead.

Around 6:05 a.m., officers responded to a shooting on Cannon Street near Orgill Avenue. When police arrived, they discovered that one woman had been shot. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where she was later pronounced dead.
