One day before his sex crimes trial was scheduled to begin, Stephan Sterns will appear in court for a plea hearing.

Stephan Sterns pleaded no contest to murder and guilty to sexual battery against 13-year-old Madeline Soto on Monday.

Stephan Sterns, who was the boyfriend of Madeline Soto's mother, pleaded guilty to 20 counts of sexual abuse and no contest to one charge of murder.
