One of my favorite things about live-action Disney movie remakes is how they find ways to pay tribute to the original voice actors, and I love that this trend continues with the new Lilo & Stitch movie.
“It’s all based on Chris Sanders’ original artistic style [who directed the animated original with Dean DeBlois and returns to voice Stitch],” said Fleischer Camp, who comes from a drawing and painting background. “That movie, I think more than any Disney movie, is a representation of one artist’s lens on the universe.”
Disney’s Lilo & Stitch has surfed past $800M at the global box office, crossing the milestone with Wednesday’s business, and now counts $807.6M.

Disney kicked off their live-action remakes with “101 Dalmatians” in 1996, where the beloved spotted Dalmatians and the wicked Cruella De Vil are brought to life.
The Lilo & Stitch live-action remake has clearly struck a chord with the audience. The movie has been a massive blockbuster hit and, while many are praising the movie for having the same powerful emotional punch as the original, there have been some criticisms of the way the remake has changed the story.
Lilo & Stitch' continues to wipe the floor with its competition in its third week of release, crossing $750 million globally, while 'Sinners' achieved a major box office milestone this weekend.
Disney has been remaking its animated classics for years to great financial success– Lilo & Stitch has been dominating the box office for weeks now. So it's no surprise that DreamWorks is now getting in on the action with a remake of How to Train Your Dragon.
