Shukugawa Park is home to over 1,700 cherry trees that create a stunning sakura (cherry blossom) canopy along the riverbanks. These trees were first planted over 70 years ago to enhance the natural beauty of the area.

And the free event wasn't just diplomacy, there were also performers from tap dancers, puppeteers, JPop singers and traditional drum performers.

While cherry blossoms are only at their brightest for a few days, the season can last several weeks. Typically, New Jersey sees the peak of cherry blossom season during the last weeks of March and early April. Central Jersey has a plethora of cherry blossoms, particularly in Linden and Rahway.
