The administration’s annual assessment of human rights abuses is shorter than last year’s report, and no sections are dedicated to abuses against women or LGBTQ people.

A collection of U.S. reports on human rights offenses trimmed or omitted past language on violations in El Salvador, Hungary, Saudi Arabia, the U.A.E. and Israel, all seen as partners by President Trump.

The report, an annual U.S. government account of human rights conditions in countries around the globe, typically comes out in February or March. A senior State Department official explained that the later release date was due to the transition of power from the Biden administration to the Trump administration.
