A Massachusetts police union is calling for charges against a City Councilmember who allegedly assaulted local and federal officers — and incited a caught-on-video chaotic protest of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrest of an accused violent criminal.
Two police unions in Worcester are accusing City Councilor Etel Haxhiaj of District 5 of being aggressive and physically assaulting officers during an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrest on Eureka Street on May 8.
The union's statement called for the city to launch an ethics investigation into Haxhiaj's conduct and urged federal officials to take action against her.
