Continuing to play without injured Caitlin Clark, the Indiana Fever dropped a second consecutive game to the New York Liberty on Tuesday, July 22.
With Caitlin Clark out for her 12th game of the season, Stephanie White and the Indiana Fever battled the New York Liberty for a second-straight game on Tuesday night. On Monday, just one day before the rematch, the Liberty made a big acquisition, earning a signing commitment from former Washington Mystics forward Emma Meesseman.
She’s also suited up with alongside Liberty stars Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones overseas. And veteran Rebekah Gardner shared the floor with Meesseman while with the 2022 Chicago Sky squad that came one win short of a WNBA Finals appearance.
The All-Star break wasn’t a break for the Liberty when it came to redecorating the roster. They were 15-6 and running second behind their 2024 WNBA Finals partner, Minnesota, but they loaded up even more for a run at a repeat by adding two new players.
The New York Liberty didn't have to add one of the world's best players in the middle of the season to beef up their title defense, but they did it anyway, and now New York looks like the favorite once again to hoist the trophy at the end of the year.
