Mr Troufanov was taken hostage along with his grandmother, Irena Tati, his mother, Yelena (Lena), and his girlfriend, Sapir Cohen. The three women were released in November 2023. Troufanov’s father was killed in the Oct 7 attack.

Troufanov were freed in Gaza on Saturday and Israel began releasing some 369 Palestinian prisoners and detainees in exchange, after mediators helped avert a ceasefire collapse.
