CVS Health Corp. is trying to buy stores and patient data from Rite Aid Corp., the beleaguered pharmacy chain that is going out of business after filing for bankruptcy a second time earlier this month. Meanwhile, other retail giants, including Walgreens Boots Alliance, are bidding for some of the pharmacy's other assets.

A U.S. bankruptcy court approved the sale of pharmacy assets from more than 800 Rite Aid stores to CVS Health, Walgreens and grocers including Kroger and Albertsons.
