European leaders urged US President Donald Trump on Wednesday not to strike a unilateral Ukraine peace deal with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin during their one-on-one meeting later this week in Alaska.

Most observers have more doubts than hopes that the upcoming Trump-Putin meeting in Alaska will bring a ceasefire in Ukraine.

U.S. leader told his European peers that he wouldn’t negotiate territorial issues during Friday’s meeting in Alaska but seek an immediate cease-fire instead.
