Transport giant FirstGroup said it has secured a deal with rolling stock company Eversholt Rail in relation to its planned new route.

The Prime Minister could not say when his aim of raising defence spending to 3 of the UK’s economic output would be realised.

The company reported a pre-tax profit of £60.5 million for the year to the end of March – more than four-fold higher than the previous year.
