SAN JOSE, Calif. - A new emergency notification system was launched in San Jose yesterday, just before the Ranch Place Fire sparked.
San Jose fire crews and Cal Fire responded to a vegetation fire that began Tuesday afternoon. The vegetation fire is in East San Jose, near 3500 Ranch Place, and began just after 4 p.m.
The blaze covered 92.3 acres, fire officials said. The fire was 100% contained as of 8 a.m. Wednesday. The fire broke out at 4:17 p.m. Tuesday near Ranch Place and Cliff Drive near Cataldi Park.
