The wildfire has consumed 4,856 acres and is currently not contained. Roughly 14,000 people and 5,000 buildings are covered by current evacuation orders, according to fire officials.
Fire officials say the blaze is threatening power lines as well as the communities of Hasley Canyon and Hathaway Ranch.
The Canyon fire began on Thursday afternoon (local time) near Lake Piru and has burned through nearly 2000 hectares across the Ventura and Los Angeles counties, spreading east.
