The Redmond-based tech giant has cut thousands of employees this year, with more layoffs expected in coming days.

Another wave of “substantial” layoffs is expected to hit Microsoft’s gaming division next week, according to a new report from Bloomberg, following earlier reporting from The Verge.

Microsoft had a global workforce of approximately 228,000 employees, including around 45,000 professionals in sales and marketing roles. The company has been evaluating overlapping functions and team structures to better align with evolving strategic priorities.
