At Saturday Night’s Main Event, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther successfully retained his title against WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg. Following that, on Monday Night Raw, a number one contender’s Gauntlet match took place to determine the Ring General’s challenger for SummerSlam.

With Seth Rollins sidelined due to a knee injury, WWE had to lay a new path for SummerSlam on Aug. 2 and 3. Those adjusted plans started with a gauntlet match to crown a new No. 1

Roman Reigns made a triumphant return to WWE to help out his cousin Jey Uso and CM Punk on WWE Raw. Uso and Punk were involved in a Gauntlet match on Monday to determine who will face World Heavyweight Champion Gunther at SummerSlam.
