The New England Patriots have been called out for snubbing kicker Adam Vinatieri from the team's Hall of Fame.

He sees it as necessary when a major Super Bowl hero disappears into the sunset and can get easily trumped by former players who play higher-profile positions and or receive bigger accolades — both the case for Edelman.

Julian Edelman will become the 37th member of the New England Patriots Hall of Fame this summer, the team announced on Monday. Edelman was selected as the winner of the fan vote, beating out Adam Vinatieri and Logan Mankins.
