The Sand Hollow Fire Protection District is responding to a vehicle fire on Interstate 84. The highway is closed for eastbound traffic, reports the fire district and Idaho State Police.
The fire, which broke out around 6 p.m., prompted immediate evacuations and temporarily closed part of the interstate. Fortunately, no injuries or major property damage have been reported.
The left eastbound lane reopened around 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, with the right lane remaining closed as of 11:46 a.m. The fire is near mile marker 15, which is west of Caldwell.
