This is Utah's fourth straight loss, and eighth defeat in the last 10 contests. Falling to another NBA loss leader -- and a very shorthanded one -- in Toronto, Utah dropped their 11th straight game on the road, making the Jazz winless since January 5th in any arena outside the Delta Center.
Walker Kessler gathered 18 first-half rebounds against the Raptors, physically unmanning Toronto’s overmatched center rotation of Orlando Robinson and Colin Castleton. Until late in the third quarter, Barnes mostly chilled out and took jumpers. And the Raptors led by 11 at half-time. It was unserious basketball all around.
Guards Ja'Kobe Walter (hip flexor) and Immanuel Quickley (rest) have been ruled out, while star forward Scottie Barnes is questionable due to a hand contusion as the team gets set to take on the visiting Washington Wizards.
With the Raptors likely to use some unusual lineups, there will be plenty of noise to filter out in the season's final seven weeks.
