Van Riemsdyk had two goals in Thursday's 5-2 win over Detroit. Both goals came after Jackets' coach Dean Evason moved van Riemsdyk onto a line with Boone Jenner and Kent Johnson after Cole Sillinger left the game with an upper-body injury in the first period.
"I knew Columbus was going to show up, and they did," Boone Jenner said. "What an atmosphere. What an experience for us."
This was Jenner's season debut following shoulder surgery he underwent in October following an injury in practice just before the start of the season. The 31-year-old offers a bit of grit and support scoring,
