Texas and Oklahoma have both had a tough run through the conference schedule during their first season in the Southeastern Conference. Both are currently bubble teams for an invite to the Big Dance. A strong showing in the SEC tourney would go a long way into getting the Longhorns or Sooners a March Madness bid.

Vanderbilt’s chances of earning an NCAA Tournament invitation weren’t completely ruined with back-to-back losses to unranked teams to end the season. But the Commodores are far from the near-locks they were after beating then-No.

The Vanderbilt Commodores finished the regular season at 20-11 and 8-10 in the SEC after today’s loss at Georgia. That puts the Commodores in a four-way tie for ninth place in the conference; but, with losses to the other three teams they’re tied with,

Unlike for seeding in the SEC tournament, there was no coin flip needed to determine the top team in conference when No. 1 Texas and No. 5 South Carolina got to make heads or tails on the hardwood … and South Carolina made its point very clear.

Dawn Staley backed up the luck of the coin flip this week in South Carolina.

Texas advanced to the SEC championship game with a 56-49 win over LSU at Bon Secours Wellness Arena on Saturday.
