Days before a hostage situation turned deadly, a physician assistant says he spoke to the man who killed a police officer and wounded staff at a Pennsylvania hospital and told him his loved one had died.

A police officer is dead, and the gunman was shot and killed Saturday after he took staff members hostage and wounded multiple people at a central Pennsylvania hospital, according to York County District Attorney Tim Barker.
