Lee Vogler, a city council member in Danville, Virginia​, was set on fire by a man who entered the office of a local magazine where he worked, police said Wednesday.

A Danville City Council member was doused in gasoline and set on fire in what appeared to be a personal feud, the Danville Police Department said. Police said the two men knew each other and it appeared the attack stemmed from a personal matter and was not politically motivated.

Police in Danville, Va., said Wednesday that they were “investigating” after a City Council member was “set on fire.” According to the release, officers went late in the morning “to the 700 block of Main Street for a report of a male being set on fire.
