A Vermont man accused of leading Massachusetts police on a high-speed chase and dragging a state trooper was taken into custody, police said.

Connecticut State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are on the hunt for a fleeing armed and dangerous suspect believed to have traveled to Connecticut in a black Audi after allegedly dragging a trooper in Massachusetts following a domestic incident in Vermont.

Stamford police say Payne was arrested at the Red Carpet Inn on East Main Street, noting two firearms were found after a search of his hotel room and vehicle.
