Portland police declared the protests a riot on Saturday night, saying they were going to make targeted arrests. That night, ICE agents also threw several rounds of tear gas into the crowd.

He was found unfit for trial in 2021 and again in 2023. Prosecutors say they don't think he'll ever be able to stand trial and want him to be committed to the Oregon State Hospital.
