The NBA announced penalties stemming from the fight between the Detroit Pistons and Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday with five players getting suspended for at least one game. Pistons big man Isaiah Stewart has been suspended two games,
The NBA punished some players for contributing to a "continued escalation of the situation," while one Pistons players received a two-game suspension.
Stewart got two games “based in part on his repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts,” the league said. The NBA handed the one-game bans to Detroit’s Ron Holland II and Marcus Sasser along with Minnesota’s Naz Reid and Donte DiVincenzo.
Morant has been suspended multiple times in the past for incidents involving actual guns. In 2023, he was suspended eight games after flashing a gun on Instagram at a Colorado nightclub. Then, in May of the same year, he was suspended 25 more games after again showing off a gun while in a car during another Instagram video.
Donte DiVincenzo and Naz Reid will each miss one game for the Wolves. Three Detroit players were also suspended.
