The 49ers have a lot of difficult decisions to make this spring, but one shocking move they could make to free up cap space is to trade superstar running back Christian McCaffrey. The 2023 Offensive Player of the Year was hampered by injuries last season that limited him to just four games,

McCaffrey was sidelined in training camp with what the 49ers called a calf injury. He was questionable for Week 1, missed that game, and then went on IR until Week 10 with what turned out to be bilateral Achilles tendinitis.
