By sunrise Sunday, New Englanders could see 3 to 6 inches of snow on the ground, but that total will increase by a couple more inches before noontime, putting the total forecast accumulation around 4 to 8 inches for much of Southern New England. Snow is expected to stop in Worcester and the western part of the state before 9 a.m., gradually moving out of eastern Massachusetts by noon. Essex, Suffolk and Middlesex counties in the northeast part of the state may see snow showers through 5 p.m. on Sunday.
