At least 20 people have been killed and 52 more are injured in a “terrorist attack” on a church in the Syrian capital on Sunday, according to the country’s health ministry.

State media says a suicide bomber in Syria attacked a church filled with people near Damascus, the capital, killing at least 22 people and wounding 63.

"This goes against the civic values that bring us together," Syrian Information Minister Hamza Mostafa wrote on social media, calling the incident a terrorist attack
