Britain’s charity regulator has opened an investigation into an African charity co-founded by Prince Harry, a week after the prince and the organization’s board of trustees resigned amid a dispute with the charity’s chairwoman.

Britain's charity watchdog said Thursday that it was launching an investigation into Sentebale, the charity Prince Harry set up in memory of his mother, Princess Diana.

Prince Harry helped launch Sentebale two years after he took a gap year in Lesotho in 2004 and nine years after the death of his mother, Princess Diana, in a 1997 car accident in Paris. Sentebale means “forget-me-not” in Sesotho, the official language of Lesotho; forget-me-nots were Diana’s favorite flower.
