The Minnesota Vikings shook up their quarterback room on Sunday, trading Sam Howell to the Philadelphia Eagles. Howell’s exit was inevitable, although most expected him to get cut. Instead, the Vikings sent Howell and a 2026 sixth-round pick in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 seventh-round pick.

In a move that could provide insurance for Tanner McKee and make things difficult for Kyle McCord (rookie) and Dorian Thompson-Robinson, the Eagles are trading for Vikings quarterback Sam Howell. The Howell trade comes hours after former Eagles second overall pick, Carson Wentz, worked out for Minnesota ahead of the roster cuts.
