FIRST PERIOD: Penn State's returning national champion Greg Kerkvliet picks up the first takedown of the match to earn a 3-0 with over two minutes to go in the period. He notches another takedown to end the period with a 6-1 lead in short time and asserts his dominance at the start of this final match.

No. 1 Penn State and coach Cael Sanderson lost out on the nation's top 2026 recruit, Johnstown's Bo Bassett. He'll go to Iowa, instead.

The No. 2 Hawkeyes lost their fourth straight dual to No. 1 Penn State, which doesn’t sit well for the program or its supporters. The last time Iowa dropped more than three consecutive duals to the same Big Ten program was from 1963-68 when Michigan won six straight against the Hawkeyes.

Penn State sophomore Tyler Kasak, the new No. 1 ranked wrestler at 157 pounds, was named Big Ten Wrestler of the Week for his performance in the top-ranked Nittany Lions’ 30-8 victory over No. 2 Iowa last Friday night at the Bryce Jordan Center.
