The Texas Tech softball team will try to score a win over Florida ... Will NiJaree Canady and the Red Raiders continue their historic run through the 2025 NCAA softball tournament? Or will Florida State end the dream season on its home field?

Darrion Williams, who averaged 15.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists last season, announced his transfer to NC State where he will spend his senior season with new Wolfpack coach Will Wade. He declared for the NBA draft while maintaining his college eligibility and also entered the transfer portal in early April.

Texas Tech superstar pitcher NiJaree Canady hadn’t allowed more than five runs in a game all season. Mississippi State softball scored six, but it still wasn’t enough to extend the season. The Bulldogs (39-19) were eliminated from the NCAA tournament in a 9-6 loss to No. 12 seed Texas Tech (48-12) in the Lubbock Regional final on May 18.

Texas Tech golf is ranked No. 24 and seeded No. 19 going into the NCAA championships at the Omni La Costa North Course in Carlsbad, California.

Texas Tech also recently added a nonconference matchup against LSU, which is set for December 7 at Fort Worth’s Dickies Arena. Texas Tech and Duke faced each other in MSG during the 2018-29 season and last faced off in the Sweet 16 of the 2022 NCAA Tournament.
