The Justice Department ordered the charges — including bribery, fraud and solicitation of a contribution by a foreign national — be dismissed on Feb. 10.

Judge Dale Ho has decided to adjourn the trial of New York City Mayor Eric Adams on corruption charges until further notice after the Justice Department said it would drop its case.

Ho wrote that he was appointing Clement, who served as a solicitor general under former President George W. Bush, because Adams and the Justice Department are aligned in their positions and the motion to dismiss hadn't undergone "adversarial testing.
