HOUGHTON, MI – The FBI has confirmed that it sent agents to assist in an investigation after two people were found dead on Isle Royale. Two unidentified campers were found dead Sunday afternoon at a remote, backcountry campground within Isle Royale National Park, the National Park Service said on Tuesday.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation in Detroit confirmed June 11 that federal officials were at the Isle Royale National Park, following the death of two campers at the remote campground.

The FBI in Michigan confirmed that agents were on the Lake Superior island following the discovery of two dead campers Sunday.
