The NBA recognized the best defenders in the league during the 2024-25 season Thursday when it released its All-Defensive teams, but that naturally led to some fans questioning why certain candidates were snubbed.
Giannis Antetokounmpo had an elite regular season. Despite his Milwaukee Bucks dealing with a plethora of injuries throughout the season, Antetokounmpo stepped up, shouldering the majority of the load for his squad.
"First MVP: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the No. 1-seed Thunder to a league-high 68 wins and became the second player in NBA history to average at least 30 points on 50% shooting, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1 block per game along with Michael Jordan (1987-88, 1990-91)," Shams added.
If the San Antonio Spurs attempt to trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo this summer, their offer would be unlikely to include the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NBA draft.
ESPN's Shams Charania reported earlier that the Bucks are scheduled to meet with Antetokounmpo and his representatives, Giorgios Panou and Alex Saratsis. The upcoming meeting is about the potential future of the Greek Freak in Milwaukee.
