Ford is betting that affordability will win out with its $30,000 EV pickup and is skipping all of that fancy truck stuff that most buyers won't use anyway.

Ford plans to start rolling out its new family of affordable electric vehicles in 2027, including a midsize pickup truck with a target starting price of $30,000, the company said on Monday, as it aspires to the cost efficiency of Chinese rivals.

The company is also rethinking the automotive assembly line in a way that CEO Jim Farley referred to as a ‘radical change.’
