The summer of deadly flash flooding continues, with two people killed by flash flooding on Wednesday near Spring Hope, North Carolina, when their car was swept away by fast-moving flood waters. The area was under a “considerable” flash flood warning Wednesday evening and 4 to 6 inches of rain fell in the afternoon and into the evening commute.

Heavy rain in the Southeast caused deadly flash floods in Nash County, North Carolina, on Wednesday. A man and woman died after their vehicle was swept into a ravine.

On Wednesday at 6:54 p.m. a flash flood warning was issued by the NWS Newport/Morehead City NC in effect until 10 p.m. The warning is for Duplin, Jones, Lenoir and Onslow counties.
