San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie on Thursday announced another new initiative with the formation of what he's calling the city's "hospitality zone task force."

Visitors, residents and businesses in San Francisco can expect a larger police presence in some of the core parts of downtown after Mayor Daniel Lurie launched a new task force to revitalize the economy and make people feel safer.

Mayor Daniel Lurie on Thursday unveiled the San Francisco Police Department Hospitality Task Force. The task force has a specific mission: make downtown safer and help kick-start the economy. "Downtown's public safety challenges have hurt our economy, our businesses and our workers," Lurie said. "It has also hurt the morale of our city."
