As snow continues to fall across Colorado on Thursday, creating icy and hazardous travel conditions, multiple roads have been shut down for crashes and weather-related safety concerns, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

Both directions of I-70 in eastern Colorado were closed for several hours due to blowing snow on Thursday afternoon. Strong gusts of wind combined with snowfall led to the adverse driving conditions.

I-70 is closed eastbound/westbound from Burlington to Airpark Boulevard just outside Denver. U.S. Highway 40 is closed eastbound and westbound from Limon to Kit Carson.

The westbound interstate was closed between Exit 195 for Copper Mountain and Exit 180 for Vail, CDOT officials said, but had reopened as of 9:30 a.m.
