The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau, during the early hours of June 12, released the preliminary investigation report of the Ahmedabad plane crash, which took place on June 12, 2025. The aircraft manufacturer Boeing on Saturday also said that it continues to support the ongoing investigation into the Air India Flight AI171 crash.
A month after the Air India plane crashed on the bustling medical hostel complex near Ahmedabad airport, charred trees, soot-covered walls, and empty buildings now serve as grim reminders of the deadliest aviation accident in a decade.
After the Air India flight climbed to 625 feet, the aircraft's signal was lost 50 seconds into the flight in clear conditions. CCTV images showed the deployment of a backup energy source called a ram air turbine that showed a loss of power from the engines.
Families of Air India passengers who died in the air crash in Ahmedabad on June 12 will take action against Boeing in the US courts very soon, to obtain evidence and answers about the role of the fuel control switches in the accident, James Healy-Pratt, partner of UK law firm Keystone Law said on Saturday.
