Tuesday's incident comes on the heels of a 3.0-magnitude earthquake in Bergen County's Hasbrouck Heights Saturday night rattled parts of New Jersey and New York. Satuday night's earthquake was felt up to 65 miles away, in parts of New York's Lower Hudson Valley and western Connecticut.

North Jersey was shaken up again on the afternoon of Aug. 5 when a 2.7 magnitude earthquake hit Bergen County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The epicenter was in Hillsdale, according to the government agency, and the quake occurred at 12:11 p.m.

A minor earthquake shook New Jersey around noon on Tuesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It was the second seismic event to hit the state in just three days. The 2.7 magnitude quake struck at 12:11 p.m. about a mile southwest of Hillsdale, a borough in Bergen County, the USGS said. No damage or injuries have been reported.
