The 2025 high school softball season in Alabama has come to its end, and it was an exciting season from start to finish. The championship series' delivered as promised, and it was a fitting end to the season that was.

Birmingham native and LPGA pioneer Jo Ann Prentice has died at the age of 92, the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame and the LPGA have announced. Prentice, who died on Sunday, joined the LPGA Tour in 1956, the circuit’s seventh season, and played full-time with the touring pros for 24 years.

As a result, Alabama is now moving on to super regionals where the Crimson Tide will travel to Norman for a three-game series against one of the nation's premier programs, the four-time defending national champion Oklahoma Sooners.
