Perplexity’s AI-powered Comet browser is part of a rising trend toward AI browsers, but whether it’s the future or just a pricey experiment remains to be seen.

OpenAI set to launch AI browser in coming weeks and anticipates to directly compete with Google by taking advantage of ChatGPT active users.

The timing isn’t subtle. Perplexity recently unveiled Comet, an AI-first browser built to make search feel conversational and context-aware.
