In June, Russia's Defense Ministry reported downing a total of 2,368 Ukrainian drones, with an average of almost 79 drones per day across the month. Thus far in July, the Defense Ministry said it has downed 1,516 Ukrainian drones, with a daily average of 89 drones.

Now President Donald Trump is betting that his go-to economic weapon — tariffs — can succeed where Ukrainian drones and rockets haven’t, and finally persuade Putin to end his war.

While some believe strict tariffs on Moscow could be a game changer, the decision to postpone them until September struck some European observers as being too long.
